Beach Rides

A must to do.

Live your dream with a beach ride along isolated Seven-mile beach, located at Byron bay Lennox head. Seven-mile beach is an ideal location for horse riding on the beach because there’s hardly anyone on the beach, especially as your heading towards Broken Head, Byron Bay.

When your ready to experience the beach ride, you meet us at the horse beach access at Lennox Head, which is our hideaway. You will need long pants and closed in shoes, boots are preferable or something with a heel.

How to get there:

Head to the surfing town of Lennox head known to be the 3rd best surfing beach in Australia.
Head towards Lake Ainsworth (Ballina’s famous tea tree lake), turn left (opposite Lennox Head Surf Lifesaving Club) into Camp Drewe Rd.
You will than have Lake Ainsworth Caravan Park on your left and Lake Ainsworth on right. Follow Camp Drewe Rd to the very end and you’ll find us waiting for you at the Lennox Head horse beach access.
We can organise pick up for an extra fee if you can’t quiet get there yourself:

The lesson plan:

We will match you to a horse that suits you and assist you with mounting. Our dedicated and experienced instructors then give you a introduction to the love of horse riding along the beach. You than can live the dream of riding a horse along one of Byron and Ballina’s most beautiful and isolated stretches of beach, away from the busy crowds of the beaches of Byron.

During our beach rides we take you down to the water to experience paddling in the sea whilst riding on our beautiful horses.

We then ride towards Broken Head, Byron Bay, taking photos and videos along the way, which we post on our Facebook page, where you can check everything out. We know you want your own photos and memories too so around the halfway point we also take photos with your camera (which you can put in your saddle bags).

To conclude the beach ride, we head back to Lennox Head and take in the natural beauty and wildlife the area has to offer – some of my favourite things have been watching the sea eagles hunt, dolphins play in the waves and whales migrating (at certain times of the year).

For the more experienced:

We cater for all standards of riders even riders as young as 5yrs and up. We have been operating for over 20 years in the Byron and Ballina shire and are well experienced at looking after beginners, nervous adults as well as young children. We offer both group and private rides.

The beginners, nervous riders and young children can enjoy a relaxing ride walking along seven mile beach whilst the more experienced riders are able to engage in more advanced techniques.

For the more experienced, all Beach rides are conducted at walk for  the beginners whilst in the safe hands of their instructor. Experienced riders follow in single file, the beach ride is a gentle ride conducted at the walk in accordance with local councils code of conduct if you or your group is experienced and want to go at a faster pace a private ride or private group ride in the Hinterland is the way to go.

As with most outdoor activities, horse riding requires a small level of physical fitness so you can comfortably enjoy your experience. We want to make sure you, as well as our horses are comfortable and safe during our our rides and lessons, as such please note there is a weight limit of 100kgs.

It doesn’t get much better than riding a beautiful horse along Byron and Ballina’s most secluded and beautiful beaches, Seven Mile.

Due to new Local Council regulations beach rides are now conducted on weekdays only. Exclusion times now include public holidays and weekends for beach rides.
